Next Level Operating System

What NLOS is

The operating system for recruiting firms.

Ask your desk. It already knows your searches. NLOS does the prep work of a search, so your recruiters spend their day with people.

The workspace you open is the smallest layer of it. Five layers underneath do the work.

01The premise

The problem

A good office runs on judgement. Most of it is buried.

Ask anyone who has built a recruiting office where the advantage comes from, and they will not point at software. They will point at a recruiter who knows the market, a client relationship that took years, a way of running a search that has been refined call by call.

That judgement is buried. It lives in an email thread from March, in one person's head, in a spreadsheet nobody opens. So every search starts close to zero: the same research, the same list, the same first call, rebuilt by hand by whoever has the desk.

NLOS is not another applicant tracking system, and it is not a chatbot bolted onto one. It is the layer underneath the work — where an office's practices, its data and its agents meet, and where the knowledge that made the office good stops being buried.

02Layer model

Six layers, one system

You are looking at the smallest part of it.

The reasonable fear is that this is an interface screen sitting on top of a model. It is the opposite. The workspace is one layer of six, and the least of them — five layers underneath it do the work.

What it reads

NLOS reads the systems you run on. It never rewrites them.

Each person connects their own accounts, and each connection reads only what it needs. These four are being connected now — not switched on yet.

  • Applicant tracking system Your firm's own searches and candidates. Coming
  • Mail and calendar Senders, subjects, times and who was in each meeting. Never message bodies or attachments. Coming
  • Phone calls Who you called, when and for how long. Never recordings, voicemail or texts. Coming
  • Sourcing New candidates for a search, found for you and brought onto your desk. Coming

And what comes with it Implementation and API work where your systems need it, training for the team, and white-glove support. Turning a desk on is done with you, not handed over as a login.

03Across every layer

Always on

Three things that hold at every layer.

These are not layers in the stack. They are the conditions the stack runs under — whether you are on the interface or down in the infrastructure.

Your data stays yours.

Your clients and candidates are never training material for anyone else's model. Each desk is set up its own way, the office's data stays the office's, and what belongs to your firm stays with your firm.

Every answer is checkable.

NLOS shows the steps it took, then opens the tool in the chat. You can see where an answer came from and trace it back to the call, the document or the record.

A human makes the call.

Drafts wait for a person. Nothing is sent, posted or changed in your systems without someone approving it. The recommendation, the hire and the pitch stay with the recruiter.

Four things that come out of those three, on every desk.

  • Time back on every desk. The kickoff packet and first outreach draft are prepared; the recruiter reviews and makes the call.
  • One standard across the office. Every search starts from the same packet and follows your firm's method.
  • Personal to each recruiter, private to your office. Each desk is set up its own way, and the office's data stays the office's.
  • You stay in control. Drafts wait for a person. Nothing is sent, posted or changed without approval.

The workflow library

Four rooms. Four workflows each.

The platform starts from five desks — Recruiter, Biz dev, Marcom, Finances and Ops — and each person's desk opens into one of four rooms. Every tile below is the first frame of a thirty-second clip: what the workflow looks like when it starts.

NLOS-R Recruiting

Recruiting workflows that move talent through the exchange. The recruiter's desk: the search, the people, the packet and the pipeline on one page.

NLOS-O Operations

Operations that keep delivery and the firm's exchange of work on track. Finances and ops: the fee schedule, the forecast, the office scorecard.

NLOS-M Marcom

Marcom that carries network practices and ideas into the market. The firm's voice, applied to every role campaign, post and issue.

NLOS-L Education

Learning that compounds expertise across the exchange. Coaching, training paths and certification, kept beside the work rather than in a separate portal.

05Availability

The SRA Network

The NLOS platform is available exclusively for the SRA Network.

NLOS is not sold as a standalone product. It is the operating platform for Sanford Rose Associates offices in the Network.

Access comes with Network membership, alongside coaching, Marcom support and the rest of the SRA offering. If you are already in the Network, ask your coach how to get turned on. If you are considering it, start at the Network page.

The trailer

A tease, not a product tour.

A trailer is meant to open questions, the way a film trailer does — not to answer them. Watch it, then take the walkthrough: your desk, your searches, your method, with one of us in the room.

NLOS Future Vision — the film. Every screen in it is real; the searches in it are samples. Sound on.

Opens questions on purpose. The answers are a conversation — and it starts with the Network.

07Plain answers

Questions

The eight questions we get asked first.

This page is also the standing reference for our own team, our coaches, our trainers, Starfish Partners and the SRA and DS networks — so the answers below are written to be quoted, not sold.

What is NLOS, exactly?

NLOS — Next Level Operating System — is the operating system for a recruiting firm: one chat over your firm's own searches and candidates, with six layers underneath doing the work. Ask in plain words and the answer comes back as the work itself: who is waiting on you, where a search stands, the next touch already drafted.

This page is the standing overview. Thirty-second clips of each workflow are being recorded now, and every module will get a walkthrough of its own.

Is NLOS another applicant tracking system?

No. An ATS — PCR, Crelate, Loxo, Top Echelon and Big Biller are the ones our offices run — is the system of record for candidates and searches, and NLOS is not trying to take that job. NLOS sits underneath the practice and reads the system you already run, without rewriting it.

The difference is what each one is for. An ATS stores the record. NLOS does the prep work around the record: the kickoff packet, the first outreach draft, the next touch, the campaign, the scorecard.

How is NLOS different from hireEZ?

hireEZ is a sourcing tool: it finds people. NLOS is an operating system for the whole desk — sourcing is one of the things it does, and it does it through a sourcing connection that brings new candidates for a search onto your desk.

The rest of the difference is the layer underneath. NLOS carries your firm's method, your office's data and the network's playbooks, so the work it prepares is about your searches, not a generic database.

What is the difference between NLOS-R, NLOS-O, NLOS-M and NLOS-L?

They are four rooms of one system, not four products: Recruiting, Operations, Marcom and Education. The platform starts from five desks — Recruiter, Biz dev, Marcom, Finances and Ops — and each desk opens into the room where its work lives.

Underneath, the same agents and the same model routing serve all four. What changes is the practice each room is held to and the accent that tells you where you are: a recruiting workflow is held to your search method, a Marcom workflow to your firm's voice.

Does NLOS replace the recruiter?

No. NLOS does the prep work of a search so the recruiter spends the day with people, and then it stops. Drafts wait for a person; nothing is sent, posted or changed in your systems without someone approving it.

The judgement — the recommendation, the hire, the pitch — is the part that stays human. That is the design, not a limitation of it.

What happens to the tools we already run — our website, LinkedIn, our ATS?

Nothing is replaced and nothing is rewritten. Your website, your LinkedIn presence and your applicant tracking system stay exactly where they are; NLOS reads the systems you run on and works over the top of them.

Connections are per person and read only what they need: an ATS connection reads your firm's own searches and candidates, mail and calendar read senders, subjects, times and attendees, phone reads who you called and for how long. These connections are being turned on now, not live yet.

Are our calls and conversations recorded, and who owns them?

No recordings. The phone connection reads that a call happened, when, and how long it ran — never recordings, voicemail or texts. Mail and calendar read senders, subjects, times and who was in a meeting — never message bodies or attachments.

What NLOS does hold belongs to your office. Your clients and candidates are never training material for anyone else's model, and the office's data stays the office's.

How does an office get access?

Through the SRA Network. NLOS is not sold as a standalone product — it is available exclusively for SRA Network offices, and access comes with membership.

If your office is already in the Network, ask your coach how to get turned on. If you are considering the Network, that conversation starts at joinsranetwork.com (opens in a new tab). More on the SRA section.
